At With the Wind Vineyard & Winery, our roots run deep—literally. With over 5,000 cold-hardy grapevines planted between 2012 and 2023, our vineyard continues to grow in both scale and quality across the South Dakota landscape.

Our viticulture focuses on thriving, resilient varieties including Frontenac, Frontenac Gris, King of the North, Itasca, La Crescent, and Crimson Pearl. Grown in our sandy loam soils, these grapes develop the bright acidity and vibrant, fruit-forward character that define many of our wines—delicious, balanced, and truly crowd-pleasing.

Each season brings new growth and deeper roots, strengthening both the vines and the wines they produce. From careful planting to dedicated vineyard management, every step is guided by a commitment to quality and a passion for what’s possible in this region.
